General principles

We process personal data only to the extent necessary to provide this website and to handle your enquiries. Data is not passed on to third parties for advertising purposes.

• No analytics or statistics tools are integrated.
• No advertising networks or social media plugins are integrated.
• Fonts, images and scripts are hosted on the same server as the website, so no data is transmitted to font providers.
• A connection to Google is established only if you explicitly load the map.

Hosting and server logs

This website is operated by a service provider in Germany: Name and address of the host – for STRATO: STRATO AG, Pascalstraße 10, 10587 Berlin. A data processing agreement pursuant to Article 28 GDPR is in place with that provider.

When you access the website, information transmitted by your browser is automatically stored in what are known as server log files:

• the address accessed and the date and time of access
• the volume of data transferred and confirmation of successful retrieval
• browser type and version, operating system used
• the previously visited page (referrer)
• IP address

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in the technically faultless operation and the security of the website. This data is not merged with other data sources. Logs are deleted after retention period at the host, typically 7 to 14 days at the latest.

Contact and forms

This website offers forms for registration, general enquiries, job applications and referrals. If you submit one, we process the details you have entered in order to handle your enquiry.

Which data

• name and email address and/or phone number
• the details you selected regarding licence class, prior experience and preferred start
• your message, if you wrote one
• for job applications, additionally the position and details of your experience
• the date and time of receipt and a shortened checksum of your IP address

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns the initiation of a training contract, and otherwise Article 6(1)(f) GDPR based on our interest in answering your enquiry. The details are deleted as soon as they are no longer required and no statutory retention periods apply.

Application documents are deleted no later than six months after the process is concluded, unless you have consented to longer storage.

Cookies and local storage

Session cookie

On pages containing forms we set a strictly necessary session cookie named “nicesess”. It serves solely to protect the form against abusive submissions from other websites and is deleted when you close your browser. The legal basis is section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG, as it is strictly necessary for the function you requested. No consent is required for this.

Local storage in your browser

So that a notice window does not reappear on every visit and your decision about the map is remembered, we store small entries in your browser’s local storage. These entries do not leave your device and are not transmitted to us. You can delete them at any time via your browser settings.

Google Maps

We offer a map on the contact page. It is not loaded automatically. Only when you explicitly click “Load map” is a connection to Google servers established. In doing so, your IP address and details about your device may be transmitted to Google. Transfer to the USA cannot be ruled out.

The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the “Privacy settings” link in the footer; the lawfulness of processing carried out until then remains unaffected.

If you do not wish to load the map, our address and a link for route planning are available without it.

Recipients

Your data is generally not passed on to third parties. Exceptions apply only where

• we are legally obliged to do so,
• disclosure is necessary to perform the contract, for example towards the driving licence authority or the officially recognised testing organisation,
• a data processing agreement is in place, in particular with our hosting provider.

Your rights

As a data subject you have the following rights:

• access to the data stored about you (Article 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Article 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Article 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Article 20 GDPR)
• objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21 GDPR)
• withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Article 7(3) GDPR)

Irrespective of this, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59–61, 10555 Berlin.

Security of transmission

This website uses an encrypted connection (TLS). You can recognise it by “https://” in the address bar and the padlock symbol in your browser. Form entries therefore cannot readily be read by third parties.

Changes to this policy

We adapt this privacy policy whenever the website or the legal requirements change. The version published here always applies.
